The inaugural Distinction series was introduced with a two-hopper configuration. After years of production, customer demand grew for a version suited for use as a commodity trailer during spring seeding.
Hopper Sizes
The hopper split configuration is 40-20-40, with the front and rear hoppers being identical in size, while the centre hopper is half the size of the other two.
Landing Gear
The aluminum Jost landing gear is standard on the Distinction series trailer. It features a galvanized insert and comes with a 10-year warranty and a 5-year maintenance-free package.
Lighting
Truck-Lite supplies all lighting, and four lighting packages are available to suit your needs.
This particular unit features the Option C package, which includes seven lights on both the top and bottom rails. Other available configurations include a five-light package, a three-light package, and the standard DOT-required three-light setup on the bottom.
A new feature this year is the updated rear lighting design. Previously, units with brick lights featured larger brick lights on the top rail. We have now transitioned to recessed-mounted oval lights for a cleaner, more integrated look.
Regardless of the lighting package selected, the three rear lights in the center function as high-mount brake lights, while the two lights on the sides serve as signal lights, improving visibility and safety. The lower three lights operate as clearance lights, with the outermost lights also functioning as brake and signal indicators.
Chutes Gates
Each chute features a stainless steel door, shafts, and a rack supported by an aluminum frame. Nylon rollers beneath the chute and replaceable wear strips on the top of the gate ensure smooth operation and longevity.
A row of three belts is installed to protect each hopper from road debris.
Control Box
The control box is located just ahead of the suspension frame and contains the air gauge, dump valves, and lighting controls.
Suspension and Wheel Options
All of our trailers are equipped with the Henrickson Intraax 23K suspension, available with various wheel-end configurations.
The Hendrickson TIREMAAX Pro Inflation System is an excellent option for improved tire life. This system ensures that all tires remain at a consistent pressure.
Fenders
A fill plate is positioned between each axle, located ahead of the stainless steel fender, now available as an option. We also offer a black polyfender. Additionally, we have replaced the previous tube-style mount, which was prone to collecting rocks and stone chipping.
Instead, we now use a stub shaft mounted onto a stainless steel bracket. This bracket is bolted directly to the frame, eliminating another stone-chipping and rust area.
What’s more, should you damage a fender, it’s now much easier to install a new one.
Mudflaps
A new feature for this year is the addition of the mud flap mounted behind the first two axles, designed to reduce debris from being thrown into the next suspension.
Ladder System
At the rear of the trailer, one notable change is the redesigned ladder system. A fold-down ladder has been introduced. This ladder features a low entry point and an angled configuration for improved accessibility and ease of climbing. When not in use, the ladder folds away.
Tarp Hood Vents
Each tarp hood features vents at both the front and rear to stay up and out of the way, eliminating the need for sidewall vents. On the top of the trailer, a vent is mounted at the rear, directly above the lights.
Optional Features
An additional option available on this unit is a sight glass, allowing operators to monitor the remaining product level in the hoppers.
The air gauge indicates the weight inside the box, and this trailer can also include an optional air chuck
Tow hooks on the rear of the trailer are also an available option.
