Health & Safety Advisor
Lode King Industries is seeking a Health and Safety Advisor to join our dedicated team. We’re looking for an individual who leads by example, communicates with respect, and is driven to create a safe, supportive workplace for everyone. In this role, you will promote a proactive safety culture by recommending preventative and corrective measures, ensuring compliance with legislation, and engaging employees in a positive, collaborative manner.
Key Responsibilities
• Assist in identifying and correcting unsafe acts or conditions with a constructive, solutions-focused approach.
• Provide support during emergency response, including hazard control, scene assessment, and first aid.
• Participate in timely incident investigations, including hazard identification, exposure assessments, and control recommendations.
• Deliver safety training in both classroom and hands-on settings (e.g., forklift, crane, WHMIS).
• Administer, track, and follow up on weekly inspections (Departmental, Crane, Rigging, Forklift, etc.).
• Support the development and review of Job Hazard Analyses, Safe Work Procedures, and Risk Assessments.
• Conduct formal and informal plant inspections, assess risks, and report potential hazards with clarity and professionalism.
• Complete administrative tasks such as maintaining inspection reports, incident files, training records, and reference materials.
Qualifications
• Occupational Safety and Health experience and/or post-secondary education; Health and Safety Professional (HSP) designation is an asset.
• Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate clearly, respectfully, and effectively in writing and verbally.
• Proven troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.
• Excellent organizational, multi-tasking, and presentation skills.
• Thorough knowledge of Federal and Provincial legislation, safety practices, and compliance requirements.
• High degree of confidentiality, discretion, and integrity.
• Strong time-management skills with exceptional accuracy and attention to detail.
• Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
• Ability to lead and participate in group meetings and training programs with confidence and professionalism.
