• Final Finish Safety Inspector

  The Final Finish Safety Inspector is certified to inspect parts, subassemblies and finished new transport trailers as registered under The Highway Traffic Act. This position works in our Final Finish Bay and performs all final relevant assembly and tire alignments for trailers using a variety of hand and power tools, including checking and adjusting of assemblies. This position would need to be certified under MPI to complete the final safety checks.

  Key Responsibilities

  • Fit and assemble prefabricated or purchased parts to trailer.
  • Move and align subassemblies and components.
  • Completes wheel alignments.
  • Inspect parts, subassemblies and finished product to ensure quality.
  • Complete all final Provincial Safety checks and completion of all applicable paperwork and signoffs.
  • Reviews and follows all work-specific assembly instructions and part-specific engineering information, set-up information and/or related work instructions to understand appropriate work process and quality requirements for completed product.

  Physical Demands and Abilities

  • Regularly lift 10-30 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
  • Remain on your feet for the entire shift and frequently bend, kneel, stoop, reach, climb, and twist as required
  • Frequently exposed to vibration through the use of hand and power tools
  • Consistently perform repetitive tasks, in a fast paced, physically demanding environment

  Core Competencies & Personal Attributes

  • Excellent use of the English language, both verbal and written, with the ability to understand and follow written and verbal instructions
  • Completion of a Trailer Technician apprenticeship program or possession of a valid Inspection Mechanic Certificate
  • Ability to read and use measuring devises like tape measures and basic math knowledge
  • Proficient in computerized systems
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, including excel, word and MS outlook
  • Strong ability to complete work accurately, efficiently and thoroughly while meeting production standards

• Trailer Decking

  The Trailer Decking position installs the deck floor onto a flat deck commercial trailer as per specifications using a variety of tools.  This includes both wood and aluminum flooring.

  Key Responsibilities

  • Read, interpret and follow basic blueprints, diagrams, engineering drawings, and other written instructions to accurately measure and cut boards to length using the miter saw and when necessary, use the shaper for select boards.
  • Use a variety of hand and power tools for installation of wood and aluminum deck boards.
  • Identify product defects and complete appropriate documentation when defects are identified
  • Follow and comply with company safety policies & procedures.

  Physical Demands and Abilities

  • Wear required PPE for job such as safety glasses, safety footwear and hearing protection
  • Regularly lift and/or move 25-50 pounds
  • Consistently perform repetitive tasks, in a fast paced, physically demanding environment
  • Demonstrate strong manual dexterity to quickly and accurately assemble parts or components
  • Remain on your feet for the entire shift and frequently bend, kneel, stoop, reach, climb, and twist as required

  Core Competencies & Personal Attributes

  • Previous manufacturing experience considered an asset
  • Proficient in the safe use of hand and air/power tools
  • Must be able to accurately read and interpret tape measures and squares, and perform simple measurement conversions for production tasks
  • Strong ability to complete work accurately, efficiently and thoroughly while meeting production standards
  • Detailed-oriented with a high motivation and initiative

• Welder

  Our welders have a primary responsibility of MIG welding of steel components and parts in a manufacturing production line. You will weld components together using welding knowledge and techniques/symbols using blueprints and shop work instructions.

  Responsibilities:

  • Perform MIG welding on steel and aluminum components used in trailer frames, panels, and supports
  • Read and interpret blueprints, welding symbols, and technical drawings
  • Cut, fit and assemble metal parts using hand tools and fabrication equipment (e.g. grinders, cutting torches)
  • Repair defects and perform rework when necessary
  • Follow and comply with company safety policies & procedures

  Qualifications:

  • Proficiency in MIG welding with mechanical aptitude and understanding of metal fabrication
  • Canadian Welding Bureau certification or capable of successfully completing CWB qualification tests
  • Previous experience welding in a manufacturing environment considered an asset
  • Proficient in the safe use of hand and air/power tools
  • Strong ability to complete work accurately, efficiently and thoroughly while meeting production standards
  • All applicants for this position are subject to an internal welding test
